Hand Lettering: Holiday Cards
About this experience
Join us for a holiday-themed hand lettering class where you learn how to maximize your own handwriting to create fun and beautiful works of art! This foundational workshop will show you how to identify a unique style and build upon your own handwriting. Learn different hand lettering styles, simple layouts, and the coveted faux-ligraphy!
In this 2 hour class, you will:
- Learn different hand lettering styles
- Explore simple yet compelling layouts
- Discover the coveted faux-ligraphy!
Apply your newly developed skills to create holiday cards & envelopes in the second half of class and go home with a set of five cards + envelopes, a Tombow’s beginning hand lettering pen set, and Rosie’s fauxligraphy alphabet exemplar and a curated list of recommended tools - everything you need to keep going on your next hand lettering project!

Your Host
Guest teacher Rosie is the lead designer of Songbird Paperie, a design and calligraphy studio based in Queen Anne. Her love for calligraphy and hand lettering has been a life-long passion. She was the kid in elementary school who wrote her notes in different “fonts”, colors, and styles! (In perfect lettering, of course!) She started studying the classic art of dip pen calligraphy in 2001, started her graphic design and calligraphy business in 2013, and has been developing multiple styles of calligraphy since.
