Community Seed Swap
Cost:FREE per person
About this experience
Join us for our second annual seed swap! It’s been a couple of years since we were able to do this in person, and we could not be more excited to be back. This is a FREE event, but tickets are required to help us keep everyone safe. Everyone is welcome, including new gardeners looking for inspiration and some seed varieties to get started with.
How does it work?
- Come as you are, even if you have nothing to swap! There will be plenty to go around.
- If you are bringing seeds you saved, please make a note with all important information. For example: “Green Zebra Tomato: open-pollinated, heirloom, 2014, has grown well in my garden for years, heavy producer, medium-size fruit, indeterminate growth habit, about 70 to 80 days to maturity, good slicer, amazing tart flavor, attractive green and yellow stripes.”
- Extra seeds you have from seed companies are great for swapping too. Please bring them in their original seed packet if possible.
- Please, no hybrid (as they won’t grow true to type) or GMO seeds.
All leftover seeds from the seed swap will be donated to local community organizations and the King County seed library!
Special thanks to our friends at Seattle Seed Company for generously donating the seeds to get this event started.
