Attending a live Zoom class with us and want to bring your own materials? We love DIY! Below you'll find a list of materials for this season of classes. If you'd rather have us put your class materials together, that option is linked below too!

Accessorize Your Summer: Painting on Fabric (July 13)

  • Fabric paint - we suggest white
  • Paint brush - size 1 or 2
  • White Sharpie paint pen
  • A piece of scratch paper and a pen or pencil
  • Something to paint! A canvas tote or an up-cycled item from your wardrobe is perfect.

Hone Your Knife Skills (July 20)

Equipment:

  • Your favorite knife
  • Your dullest knife
  • Cutting board
  • A honing steel or sharpening stones (optional)
Suggested practice produce:
  • 1 onion
  • 1 medium or large tomato
  • 1 large squash, gourd, or pumpkin
  • 1 head cauliflower
  • 1-2 carrots
  • 1 shallot
  • Basil or mint 

    Heart Opening Beginner Yoga and Intro to Meditation (July 21)

    • Safe space to move around
    • Comfortable clothes to move around in
    • Water
    • An open mind and heart!
    • Yoga mat (optional)
    • Journal / Pen and Paper (optional)

    Summer Cheese Boards (July 23)

    Equipment:

    • A plate, cutting board, platter, or any flat food-safe surface to build your cheeseboard on
    • Cutting board
    • Knife
    • 2-3 small dishes or bowls 
    • 1-2 spoons 

    For the fruit seasoning:

    • 1 lime
    • A microplane, small grater, or vegetable peeler 
    • 1/8-1/4 tsp chili powder of any kind
    • 1/8 tsp salt
    • A dash black pepper
    • 1/4 tsp sugar 

    Board elements:

    For each category choose at least one item. If more than one choice from a category excites you, feel free to choose more. 

    Main cheese, about 5 oz:

    • Goat
    • Feta 
    • Brie 
    • Gorgonzola 
    • Mozzarella 

    Optional second cheese, about 3 oz:

    • Parm 
    • Pecorino 

    Charcuterie , about 3-5 oz total:

    • Pre-sliced Salami
    • Prosciutto 

    Nuts:

    • Walnuts
    • Pecans 
    • Cashews 
    • Macadamia 
    • Almonds 
    • Pistachios 

    Acid:

    • Olives
    • Pickled or marinated peppers 

    Flavor:

    The Israeli Kitchen (July 27)

    Equipment: 

    • Medium to large saucepan
    • Food processor (if you don’t have one you can use a blender, stand mixer, or mash by hand with a potato masher)
    • Cutting board
    • Knife for cutting/chopping
    • Blender or small electric chopper (by hand also works!)
    • Mesh strainer (or cheesecloth if you don’t have a strainer)
    • Bowls
    • Whisk

    Ingredients: 

    • ½ cup bulgur wheat
    • 2-3 bunches curly parsley
    • 3-4 tomatoes
    • 1 red onion
    • 4 lemons
    • ½ cup olive oil
    • Salt
    • 1 cup dried chickpeas
    • 2 tsp baking soda
    • 1 tsp ground cumin
    • 2 cups Tehina
    • 1 English cucumber

    Notes:

    • Do not cut or chop any produce prior to class, we will go over methods for chopping together and do all prep work together. Just make sure your produce is washed.
    • Please soak your chickpeas with 1 teaspoon of baking soda covered by several inches of water overnight prior to class.

    Art Journaling for Relaxation (July 29)

    A journal is a must - bring your own or purchase a small or large size journal from us. Additionally, gather whatever creative supplies you have available, or borrow from a friend! This is a list of possibilities - you don't need to have everything!
