Homemade Happy Hour

You don’t have to own a muddler or have exotic ingredients on hand to make a great cocktail at home. In this class you’ll learn about the most common tools bartenders use and the items in your own kitchen that make great stand-ins. We’ll guide you through hands-on practice of essential techniques like properly stirring a drink and making a gorgeous garnish. Learn how to make cocktails using common ingredients - except for one not-so-common liqueur we think is worth having on hand. Take away recipes and lots of variations for making your next homemade happy hour even happier. 

Materials

To follow along with the video at home, you'll need the following materials.

  • Heavy, flat bottom vessel such as a pint glass or Pyrex measuring cup
  • Cocktail shaker or a large Mason jar with lid
  • Wooden spoon
  • Measuring cup or spoon 
  • Sharp paring knife or vegetable peeler
  • Ice
  • Sugar
  • Choice of: gin, rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, Angostura bitters, 1-2 limes, cocktail cherries
