Kombucha 101 | August 25 | 6:30-8pm

Everyone loves kombucha, but buying it at the store every week gets expensive. Now's your chance to learn how to make your own from a long-time brewer and passionate fermentista!

We’ll cover all the basics on how to brew your own probiotic bubbly, dive into the details of a ‘SCOBY’ (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast), go over tips and tricks, create unique flavor combos, and learn how to do a second ferment. You’ll leave class with the confidence to ditch the store-bought varieties and the knowledge to brew your kombucha instead.

2. Let us put the class supplies together for you! The supplies for this class include:

  • 8 bags of black tea from Smith Teamaker
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 SCOBY + 1 cup starter liquid
  • 1 rubber band
  • 1 coffee filter

You will need to provide a one-gallon glass jar. (We have a limited number of glass jars available for local pick-up. Please contact us at hello@theworksseattle.com if you are interested!)

      You can expect to receive the Zoom link and any other information you need no later than the day before class. Don't be bashful! Everyone is welcome, so feel free attend with a partner, housemate, or the whole family - just make sure you have enough materials for everyone. We'll see you there!
